Pratapgarh : Pratapgarh State Government has prescribed the menu of mid day meal for children in schools. Under this, the school management will be able to feed the children food of their choice once a week. In this, children will also be able to get food other than the prescribed menu. In the mid-day meal provided to children up to class 8 in government schools, food other than the prescribed menu can also be served one day a week. The menu from Monday to Saturday has been decided by the Mid Day Meal Commissioner. In this, he has given the school management the freedom to provide food of their choice on one day. Till now, under the mid-day meal, the schools are providing vegetables and bread on Monday and Saturday, dal and roti on Wednesday and Friday, dal and rice on Tuesday and The menu of Khichdi was fixed. During this period, as per the demand, the Commissioner has authorized to provide food to the heads of institutions other than the fixed menu on one day. The advantage of this will be that apart from the prescribed menu, children will also be able to get special diet. After receiving its instructions, this system will be implemented in government schools in the coming days.
Fruits will be given every week on Thursday
Till now, fruits have been distributed in government schools on Tuesday as per previous instructions, but now this has also been changed. The Commissioner has issued an order for this. Under this, fruits can now be distributed in government schools on Thursday as per the revised order.
Criteria for cook released
The criteria has been set to have one cook to prepare food for 50 children till class 8 and two cooks less helpers if the number of students is 51 to 150. If the number of students is up to 400, 3 cooks less helpers can be employed. If enrollment exceeds 400, an additional cook can be appointed for 150 children. Cook cum helper will be given an honorarium of Rs 2143 every month.
