Pratapgarh : Where the prices of soybean, the main commercial crop of Pratapgarh region, are not increasing. On the other hand, its cost is also increasing. In such a situation, farmers had hope of support price. But even the procurement centers could not be started in the district at the support price approved by the government. In such a situation, farmers are forced to sell soybean in the market at low prices. In such a situation, farmers have raised the demand for opening procurement centres. On the other hand, the Cooperative Department says that farmers have to register online. Only after this the procurement will be started. For this, preparations have been made for purchase at approved centers in the district. Procurement will be done after maximum registration by the farmers. For the last few years, the cost of production of soybean has been continuously increasing. Due to which farming is becoming expensive.
On the other hand, farmers are not able to get the prices. In such a situation, farmers are facing losses in soybean cultivation. Along with this, in view of the major problems of the farmers, the support price of soybean for the year 2024-25 has been fixed at Rs 4892 per quintal by the government. For this, procurement centers have also been approved in the district. But due to non-starting of procurement here, farmers have to sell soybean in the market at low prices. Due to which farmers are not able to get even the cost. However, farmers are required to register online to sell soybean at support price. Only after this the purchasing will start.
These 16 procurement centers are approved in the district
16 centers have been set up in the district on support price. In these, purchases will be made at Chhotisadri, Arnod and Pratapgarh purchase-sale cooperative societies. Along with this, purchases will be made in Ambawali, Manpura Jagir, Jaloda Jagir, Kesunda, Semarthali cooperative societies of Chhotisadri. Along with this, procurement centers have been made in Kulthana, Achalpura, Pipliyan Lempus of Hadji of Pratapgarh and Arnod, Salamgarh, Dalot, Badisakhthali, Moheda Lempus of Arnod.
