Dholpur : Municipal Council started Chambal Safari Scheme to promote tourists in Chambal. Under the scheme, through voting, tourists get a chance to visit Chambal and see the aquatic life. But due to non-availability of fitness certificate of votes, tourists are not able to enjoy voting till now. The votes which take tourists to visit Chambal have been standing on the banks of Chambal for the last 12 days waiting for fitness clearance. But till now the letter of fitness certificate has not been issued by the City Council from the RTO office. Due to which voting could not start due to lack of fitness clearance for votes. Winter season has also started but tourists are still not able to enjoy voting. And only after taking a walk on the banks of Chambal, standing in the polls and getting photographs taken, they are returning disappointed.
While tourists are disappointed due to non-start of Chambal Safari, the city council is also losing its source of income. When we wanted to get information from the Municipal Council in this regard, the top official of the Council said that due to lack of tourists in Chambal Safari and huge loss of revenue, soon a tender for Chambal Safari will be floated and the voting scheme will be given on contract. So that the council’s revenue can be benefited. Due to poor financial condition of the council, Sharad Mela was also given on a contract of Rs 83 lakh.
Voting starts in MP border
Two months have passed since the season started but voting has not yet started in Chambal. On the lines of Chambal Safari of Madhya Pradesh, the Municipal Council had started Chambal Safari to promote tourists. However, tourists are enjoying voting in Madhya Pradesh border. Chambal Safari of Madhya Pradesh has started only one and a half month ago. But due to lack of fitness clearance, Chambal Safari Scheme run by Dholpur Municipal Council is still closed.
