Greater Noida, November 28 (IANS). Preparations are on to start flights from Jewar Airport next year. The Greater Noida Authority has started preparations so that the residents of Noida, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West can easily reach the airport and do not have to face traffic jams.
The authority is widening the 130 meter road connecting Greater Noida West and Greater Noida. The authority has already completed the widening work of 8 kilometers out of 27 kilometers road, now the work of widening of nine kilometers road is in progress.
Rs 50 crore has been sanctioned for this. Preparations are on to start the work in January after completing the tender process. Thousands of people from Greater Noida West, Noida Phase Three and Ghaziabad travel from here every day. After the opening of the airport, traffic pressure will increase further.
To deal with this, Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar decided to widen the road by 130 meters. Work on this has started. It is being built in different phases.
The work of the first phase has been completed, under which widening of 8 kilometer road has been completed. Preparations are on to start the work on the second phase in January. Meanwhile the tender process will be completed. It will take 6 months from start to completion of the work.
Greater Noida Authority’s ACEO Prerna Singh said that 9 km widening work will be done in this phase. It will take six months after the work starts. It is estimated to cost around Rs 50 crore.
He said that the work of the remaining 10 kilometers will be completed in the next phase.
