Rajasthan Coaching Centers Bill: What is in the draft?

According to the Rajasthan Coaching Center (Control and Regulation) Bill 2024, the two-tier administrative system of the state government will regulate coaching institutes. Coaching institutes will not be able to enroll children below 16 years of age. They will not make any misleading claims or promises. They will give complete information to students and parents about the nature of the examination. So that they can choose a career option based on it. According to the draft, coaching centers will have to mention the qualification of teachers, course information, easy exit policy, fee refund policy, total number of enrolled children in a year and the number of children who passed on their website. Along with this, it will be necessary to have a counseling system and a committee for complaints in coaching centers.

This effort should not increase pressure on children

The effort is to reduce the pressure on children. The draft states that children will get one day off in a week. There will be no test on the day off. There will not be more than 5 hours of class in a day. Also, the number of children in the class will be fixed, it cannot be increased in between. If a child wants to leave the course in between, then his fee will be refunded. The special thing is that in the draft of Rajasthan Coaching Bill, there is a provision of imposing a fine of 25 thousand for the first time and 1 lakh for the second time for breaking the rules.

Coaching institutes suggest that the government should reduce the age limit

Coaching institutes have given some suggestions regarding the draft. The representatives said that now the number of participants in competitive exams has increased. In such a situation, children need to prepare in advance. Therefore, the age limit should be reduced. Also, institutes with less than 50 students should also be brought under the purview of this bill because they are also doing business activities.

So far this year 15 students have committed suicide
