Banswara : ‘Aadi Gaurav Samaroh’ program is being organized by the Tribal Department on Friday 4th October at Mangarh Dham in Banswara. President Draupadi Murmu is going to reach Banswara shortly to participate in this program. President Draupadi Murmu will reach Mangarh Dham, the center of faith of millions of tribals, for the first time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of many states have also addressed the gathering at this center of politics and social harmony. But the local people are waiting for Mangarh Dham to get the status of national monument. This hope has been awakened once again with the President’s program. Because for the first time a President’s program will be held in Mangarh Dham.
More than 1500 tribals gave martyrdom in Mangarh Dham
This area is related to the historical movement. When during the country’s independence movement, Govind Guru had started a campaign to remove social evils and awaken enthusiasm in the society. ‘Bhagat Movement’ took place 100 years ago on the hill of Mangarh Dham. This movement was to make the tribal society aware, which was quite effective. Due to which an attempt was made to crush this Bhagat movement by taking the help of the British. Under this, on 17 November 1913, the British surrounded the hill of Mangarh Dham from all sides and fired indiscriminately. In which more than 1500 tribals were martyred. This Mangarh Dham has now become a pilgrimage place for the tribal community of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
This Dham is also very important in political terms.
Being a tribal dominated area, this place in South Rajasthan is also very special in political terms. Apart from other tribal dominated areas of the state including Banswara, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh, Mangarh Dham also has special significance in the tribal society of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Keeping this in view, many big political programs are organized here. Two years ago, many senior Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi had participated in the program organized on World Tribal Day. At the same time, last year BJP had also organized a grand event. In which Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Governors and Chief Ministers of many states participated. Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), which is trying to establish supremacy in the region, has also announced to make Mangarh Dham the capital once the demand of Bhil state is fulfilled.
