Jaipur News Desk: There is a huge influx of green vegetables in the Muhana Mandi of Jaipur these days. Due to this, there has been a decline of 30 to 40 percent in the prices of vegetables. The prices of tomato, onion and other vegetables have also reduced. However, the prices of garlic still remain high. President of Muhana Mandi Fruit-Vegetable Wholesalers Association, Yogesh Tanwar said – At present old garlic is coming in the market. Due to this its prices have increased. There is a possibility of reduction in prices after the arrival of new crop in January. At present, garlic is being sold at Rs 200 to 250 per kg in the wholesale market and at Rs 280 to 330 per kg in retail.
Vegetable arrivals and prices
Vegetables are reaching Muhana Mandi from different parts of the country. This includes cauliflower and cabbage from UP and Pavata, lemon from Sri Gonda (Maharashtra), ginger from Bengaluru (Karnataka), peas from MP and Shimla, carrot from Kotputli, bottle gourd, pumpkin, brinjal, ridge gourd Gujarat. Hybrid tomatoes are coming from Nashik, desi tomatoes are coming from Chomu and Shivpuri.

Due to increase in arrivals in the market, the prices of green vegetables are decreasing. Farmers and traders believe that further decline in prices is possible in the coming days due to increasing supply of new crop of garlic and other vegetables.
