Prisoner dies in Dholpur district jail, post mortem conducted

Dholpur : A 70 year old prisoner lodged in Dholpur District Jail died on the way to the district hospital due to ill health. The incident was informed to the Kotwali police station. Kotwali police took the dead body into custody and kept it in the mortuary of the district hospital. Postmortem has been done by the jail administration by the medical board. Deputy Jailer Shailendra Singh Choudhary said that the elderly prisoner in the district jail, Mukund Madhav (70), son of Shiv Charan, resident of Rajkheda, was lodged in a case of fraud and embezzlement. The prisoner’s trial was still going on in the court. After Sunday afternoon, the health of the prisoner kept in the barricade suddenly deteriorated. The prisoner was taken to the district hospital by the jail administration due to chest pain, but he died on the way. The doctors of the district hospital conducted a health examination and declared him dead.

He said that information about the incident was given to Kotwali police station. Kotwali police station and jail administration informed the prisoner’s family about the matter. After which the prisoner’s family reached the district hospital. Where the postmortem of the prisoner has been done by the Medical Board. Deputy Jailer Shailendra Singh Chaudhary said that a judicial inquiry will be conducted into the matter. After postmortem, the dead body has been handed over to the family for last rites.
