Jaipur : Private bus operators across the state went on strike on Tuesday accusing the Rajasthan government of breaking its promise. All of them have decided not to put a single private bus on the road today. Due to this strike, the transport service of regional and rural areas is getting affected a lot. The people who work and travel daily are facing the most problems. At the same time, its effect is also being seen on short distance transport services.
Officials stopping tourist buses on the highway
Due to this strike, the officials of the private bus association are now stopping the tourist buses running on the highway and asking for support in the strike. A picture has also emerged from Bhilwara district during this period, in which some people are seen standing in front of the bus with their bikes and are not allowing the vehicle to move forward. They are also telling the driver that the executive of the Bhilwara District Private Bus Association took a decision in the meeting on Monday to support the strike on the call of the state organization.
‘Orders were not issued even after agreeing on the demands’
Rajasthan Private Bus Association’s state spokesperson Jagdish Chandra Ojha said that earlier a meeting was held with Chief Transport Secretary Shreya Guha and Transport Commissioner. In the meeting, out of 23 demands, 15 demands were agreed upon, out of which orders for even one demand have not been issued till date. Bus operators are angry about this breach of promise by the government. Spokesperson Ojha said that demand letters were sent to the government again and again. Today, bus operators have been forced to resort to agitation as orders have not been issued despite reminding of the terms of the negotiation.

Both offline and online TP should be activated.
The fare should be increased.
The time of public transport should be extended by one year.
There should be a 20 percent discount on seating capacity.
What is being affected by the strike?
The strike is having a direct impact on the transport services in rural areas. Be it public transport service, sleeper coach, stage carriage or even factory school buses, all the buses including urban buses are closed. The private bus association is seeking support by contacting factory owners and school bus owners of Bhilwara.
