Protest against fee increase in Bikaner Agricultural University, students’ strike begins

Bikaner News Desk: A movement has started against the fee hike in Swami Keshavanand Agricultural University, Bikaner. Student organizations have started a siege of the University Vice-Chancellor against this. There was a bustling atmosphere in the university campus on Monday also. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bikaner Mahanagar protested against fee hike and other problems in Agricultural University. Students sat on strike in front of the Vice Chancellor’s room in the university. During this, the students raised slogans against the university administration and raised their demands.

The protesters marched towards the Vice Chancellor’s chamber and after reaching there tried to meet the Vice Chancellor. After this, there was a minor altercation with the police, but due to the Vice Chancellor being absent, he met the Registrar and submitted his memorandum. In the memorandum, demands were made to immediately withdraw the fee hike, dirty drain in the campus, threatening students to spoil their degrees, improving the quality of food in the mess and canteen and solving other administrative problems. State Agriculture Vision Coordinator Naveen Choudhary said that for a long time we are getting only assurances on our demands and the Vice Chancellor has made the university a den of corruption and has given a 7-day ultimatum to the university administration. And warned that if these problems were not resolved, they would further intensify the agitation in the coming days. During this, provincial co-minister Mohit Jajda and metropolitan minister Mehul Sharma. Jasraj and other workers were present.
