Jaisalmer : Electricity employees boycotted work on Friday under the banner of Rajasthan Vidyut Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti demanding not to implement privatization in Jaisalmer Electricity Corporation and to implement OPS. The employees staged a one-day symbolic protest outside the Jaisalmer SE office of the corporation. Electricity workers said that currently most of the distribution works in the Jodhpur Discom of the Electricity Corporation are being done through outsource, FRT and contracts and private participation in the name of CLRC. Now under the HAM model, 33 11 KV grid feeders are being outsourced in the name of segmentation and solarization and are being handed over to private hands. Which is a direct violation of the Grid Safety Code.
Due to this, handing over 33/11 KV grid to private hands under the HAM model may pose a threat to the strategic security of the state and the country due to the movements of farmers and people. Permanent employment opportunities in the energy sector of the state will almost end. Due to which the hopes of educated and trained youth for permanent employment in the energy sector will be dashed.
staged a one-day symbolic strike
During this, Rajendra Kumar Saini, convener of Jaisalmer Joint Struggle Committee Ekta Manch, said that giving GSS on contract will increase the accidents involving the common people of the state and the permanent employees of the corporation. He said that permanent employees should be recruited for permanent works of technical nature. He told that tenders have been issued for installing smart meters in Rajasthan. Whereas it has been banned in Bihar, Maharashtra and MP. Saini told that the employees working in the corporation were made members of the OPS scheme by filling the form about a year ago. It is clearly mentioned in the order of the state government that after the implementation of the old pension scheme in the institution, no deduction in the form of employer contribution will be made under the CPF scheme. But till date CPF deduction has been stopped and GPF deduction has not been started. Regarding these demands, the electricity employees boycotted work and sat on strike collectively on Friday.
