Greater Noida, December 4 (IANS). Farmers have decided to stage a protest tonight at Zero Point in Greater Noida. After the meeting of United Kisan Morcha on Thursday, a decision will be taken from where to start the protest again.

Talks were held between farmers and top police officials. It was decided that today’s protest will continue at zero point. There will be a meeting of farmers with officials again in the morning. It will be decided whether the protest should be held at Zero Point or at Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal.

OSD of Yamuna Authority, Shailendra Singh said that a committee of officials of the three authorities and the DM will talk to the farmers. All their demands will be worked upon. We are preparing a channel through which talks will take place. You will get to see the progress of the work daily.

In fact, on the call of Bharatiya Kisan Union, farmers had announced a Mahapanchayat at Zero Point of Greater Noida. Farmers started arriving from 10 am on Wednesday. One by one, farmer representatives of all the 10 organizations reached the Mahapanchayat venue. Along with them, hundreds of farmers also continued to reach zero point. Panchayat was started.

During this time, Rakesh Tikait, who was coming to attend the Mahapanchayat to be held at Zero Point in Greater Noida, was stopped by the police administration at Tappal in Aligarh.

At the same time, in view of the protest, the police released all the arrested farmers. Dharmendra Pradhan of BKU arrived here first, followed by Sukhveer Khalifa and other farmer leaders. After this, it was decided in the Panchayat that the strike would start from the same place where it ended. Farmers will go to Delhi and stay.

A high power committee was formed to resolve the problems of the farmers. This committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Housing and Industrial Development, Anil Kumar Sagar. In which there are four members apart from him. Special Secretary Housing and Industrial Development Piyush Verma, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority Sanjay Khatri, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority Soumya Srivastava, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Yamuna Development Authority Kapil Singh have also been made members. This committee will solve the problems of the farmers and submit the report to the government within a month.

Chaudhary Gaurav Tikait, national president of the youth wing of Bharatiya Kisan Union, has taken charge of the farmers’ panchayat going on in Noida. While addressing the Uttar Pradesh government, he has said that by torturing innocent farmers, your image along with your government is getting tarnished. Children and youth of unhappy farmers are becoming directionless. Delhi is close, will we have to travel to Lucknow also? Innocent farmers were illegally picked up from the protest and thrown into jail. This much dictatorship is not right.
