Bharatpur : Radha Ashtami festival is being celebrated with great pomp in Rajasthan today (September 11). There is a crowd of devotees in Radha and Krishna temples of Bharatpur. Radha Rani’s birth anniversary is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Radha Rani was anointed with Panchamrit in the temples. After the anointment, Charanamrit Prasad was distributed among the devotees. The hustle and bustle in Radha Rani’s temples started from 4 am. Devotees’ devotion overflowed in Banke Bihari Temple, Nadia Gopal Temple, Radha Raman Temple, Krishna Radha Temple and Mohan Ji’s Temple. Mantra chanting was organized in the temples on Radha Rani’s birth anniversary. Radha Rani was praised through Aarti. Radha Rani’s Aarti was performed with 51 lamps in Nadia Gopal Temple. Women performed dance on the songs of Braj. Devotees praised Radha Rani and wished for happiness. Devotees felt blessed after seeing Radha Rani.

Crowds gathered in Radha Rani’s temples on Radhastami festival

Radha Rani’s feet are visible once a year on Radhastami. Pandit Jitendra Bhardwaj said that Radha Rani’s birth anniversary is being celebrated with great pomp. Radha Rani has special significance in Lord Krishna’s Leelas. He said that Radha Rani was born in Barsana Dham. Therefore, Radhastami is celebrated with great pomp across the country including Braj Mandal. In Sanatan Dharma, worshipping both Radha and Krishna on Radhastami has special significance. It is believed that the one who pleases Radha ji also gets Lord Krishna. The festival of Radhastami is celebrated in the joy of Radha Rani’s birth anniversary. All festivals have an important place in Sanatan Dharma.
