Raid Barmer house, seized drug consignment, one arrested

Barmer : Siwana and DST police of Balotra district have arrested an accused while taking action against narcotics. 32.680 kg of doda poppy in three plastic bags, 1.350 kg of opium milk in one plastic bag and 670 grams of illegally manufactured opium in another plastic bag have been recovered from the house. Whose estimated price is Rs 9 lakh. At present the police is interrogating the accused about the purchase and sale of drugs. Balotra police had received information on Tuesday that illegal drug trade was going on in village Phulaan. A larger consignment can be obtained from there. On this the DST team and Sivana police raided the house.

Upon search, 32.680 kg of doda poppy in three plastic bags, 1350 kg of opium milk in one plastic bag and 670 grams of illegally manufactured opium in another plastic bag were recovered from the house. One large and one small electronic scale used in selling illegal drugs and plastic bags used to pack illegal drugs for selling to customers were found. The police detained the accused Suresh Kumar, son of Virdharam, resident of Phoolan police station Samdari. DSP Neeraj Sharma said that a case has been registered against the accused Suresh Kumar under the NDPS Act and investigation has been started. The accused is being interrogated as to where he used to bring the drugs from and to whom he sold them. The value of the seized drugs has been estimated at Rs 9 lakh. Police have also seized a Creta car.
