Jaipur News Desk: Every year the country’s largest animal fair is held in the pilgrimage city Pushkar, 15 KM away from Ajmer district of Rajasthan, in which tourists from all over the world participate. This fair, which runs 15 times in the month of Kartik, remains in the news every year for the dance of camels, new trends of mustaches and the most expensive auctions of animals. But this time the Pushkar Fair of 2024 has become famous for incidents like fighting, pushing, jam, dirt and theft of service revolver. The Bhajanlal government, which gives the message of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, is very angry with such irregularities in the international fair, and Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant himself has held an online meeting with the Collector and asked for a complete report.
On November 15, 3 days after the end of Pushkar Fair, the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan talked to all the senior officials of Ajmer district through video conferencing. Pant asked how much money was given to Kailash Kher who came to perform at the Pushkar fair? Why was there a mistake in his payment? Why did the police manhandle the VIP pass holders who came to the Pushkar fair? How were PSO’s service revolver and cartridges stolen? Why did the female police constable slap the young man? The report of answers to all these questions has been sought from Ajmer District Collector Lok Bandhu. Apart from this, it has also been asked to submit a report regarding the shortcomings in the arrangements of Pushkar Fair. However, information about when this report is to be presented has not been revealed yet.
GST deducted on payment check of Padmashree Kailash Kher
The payment check given to Kailash Kher after the musical night at Pushkar Fair was less than the stipulated amount. When Singer asked the administration about this, he was told that GST has been deducted from the payment. Kailash Kher had expressed a lot of displeasure on this, after which Ajmer District Collector had ordered the sponsors to pay the full amount to Kher. This incident that took place in Pushkar with the Padmashree awardee artist reached the state capital Jaipur, after which Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant sought clarification on the matter from Ajmer DM and asked him to submit the investigation report within the stipulated time.

The video of a female police constable slapping a young man during Kailash Kher’s musical night on the night of 14th November was also much discussed. According to the viral video, the lady constable on duty, Sunila Chaudhary, was watching Kailash Kher’s show while sitting on a chair in the audience gallery with her daughter. During this time, a young man came, due to whom the lady constable had an argument on some issue. After this, the female constable slapped the young man several times one after the other. Along with the female constable, another youth also started beating the other youth. Local people recorded the video of this fight on their mobiles, which went viral. Taking action on this video, the District Superintendent of Police has put the woman constable on the line for taking law into her own hands while on duty.
Gunman who lost service revolver suspended
On the same day, the service revolver and cartridges hanging on the waist of RPS officer Vijay Sankhla’s gunman Suresh Devanda also fell somewhere, which could not be found even after searching. In this case, gunman Suresh has filed a case in Pushkar police station for theft of service revolver 9 MM butt number 271 body number 1886 5229 and 10 cartridges of the magazine. Now Pushkar Police is scanning the CCTV installed in the fair so that the service revolver of the gunman can be found. The police fear that someone might misuse the service revolver. That is why action is being taken on this issue.
Scuffle with people who came to the fair with VIP pass
This time there were a lot of inconveniences in the Pushkar fair. There was traffic jam at many places. The police had to work hard to control the crowd. The situation was such that singer Kailash Kher was late by about 2 hours in reaching the stage after leaving the jam. His program was to start at 7 o’clock, but due to irregularities it could start at around 9 o’clock. It was also seen that in the Pushkar fair, the sponsors had distributed more VIP passes than seats. Due to this, the crowd in the fair increased and people could not find a place to sit. Even after the VIP gallery was full, people with VIP passes started trying to enter the gallery, due to which the police pushed them all out. People got angry due to this and there was an uproar.
Devotees took great bath amidst filth
This time at the internationally famous Pushkar fair, the devotees had to take the great bath of Kartik Purnima amidst filth. At some places the devotees were troubled by the terror of stray animals, at some places two-wheelers continued to enter the huge crowd unhindered. The administration did not pay any attention to these problems. People with four wheeler carts camped at various places, due to which the pilgrims walking on foot had to face a lot of problems. For this reason, huge lines of devotees were seen at the main ghats of the holy lake, markets and to visit the Brahma temple.
