Jaipur : Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar apologized in the Rajasthan Assembly on Thursday for his controversial statement on the ‘DNA of tribals’. During the Question Hour proceedings in the House, the Education Minister expressed regret and said, “I come from the tribal community. Tribals also supported Maharana Pratap in the war. If the tribals have been hurt by my words, then I apologize for it.’
Congress had made a strategy
Even before the assembly proceedings began on July 3, the Congress had held a meeting of the legislative party and devised a strategy to surround Madan Dilawar inside the House. Under this, whenever the Education Minister stood up in the House to speak, the opposition leaders would create a ruckus and demand him to apologize and resign from his post. The situation was such that no one could hear Madan Dilawar. The same thing happened today. As soon as the assembly proceedings began, the Congress leaders started creating a ruckus as soon as the Education Minister wanted to speak. Then he ended the deadlock by apologizing to the tribals.
How did the dispute start?
This entire controversy started with a comment on a statement made by Rajkumar Roat, MP from Banswara-Dungarpur Lok Sabha seat. BAP MP Roat had said that he comes from the tribal community and belongs to a belief system different from organized religions including Hinduism. Then commenting on this statement of Roat, Dilawar had said that if the BAP leaders do not consider themselves Hindus, then they should do a DNA test to see whether they are the sons of a Hindu or not.
Tribals had sent samples
This statement of the minister went viral and politics started in Rajasthan. First Rajkumar Roat raised questions on this statement of Dilawar and then he reached the house of the education minister with his tribal supporters carrying DNA. Time passed but this controversial statement did not leave the minister. A few days ago, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara and Madan Dilawar came face to face again in the assembly, due to which there was a lot of uproar. However, today the apology of the education minister put an end to the whole episode.
