Rajasthan government did not deposit 1100 crores in the accounts of panchayats, know the whole matter

Jaipur : In Rajasthan, despite the agreement, the displeasure of the Sarpanchs against the state government is increasing again due to not fulfilling a single demand. Regarding this, the Rajasthan Sarpanch Sangh has called a meeting on Thursday. Further strategy will be decided in the meeting. Executive officials and Sarpanchs will attend this meeting to be held at 11 am in a hotel located at Khasa Kothi. Executive President of Sarpanch Sangh Nemichand Meena said that the state government had assured to consider the demands and implement them by August 15, but did not fulfill a single demand. Apart from this, Rs 1100 crore has not been deposited in the accounts of the Panchayats. It is worth noting that last month the Sarpanchs had agitated against the government and warned of gherao of the Assembly on July 24. Meanwhile, after talks with the government, the Sarpanchs had postponed their agitation for a month.

The government had promised to invest Rs 1100 crore

In Rajasthan, Additional Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department Ravi Jain had discussed in detail with the officials of Panchayati Raj, Finance, MNREGA, Public Works and Home Department and the representatives of Sarpanch Sangh regarding the 15-point demands of Sarpanch Sangh. After which Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department Abhay Kumar had said that by August 15, the government will deposit more than Rs 1100 crore in the accounts of Gram Panchayats.

In this meeting, the Sarpanchs had demanded that the honorarium of skilled and unskilled workers be increased. Along with this, the demand was made to extend the tenure of Rajasthan Sarpanchs on the Madhya Pradesh model, to give toll free passes to Sarpanchs on highways, to form a Panchayati Raj Welfare Fund Board, and to provide police force to Panchayats to remove encroachment.
