Jaipur : Before the Indian Premier League-2025, the big auction of players will be held on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. For the second consecutive year, the IPL auction is being held abroad. Last year the players auction was held in Dubai. Big Indian stars like Rishabh Pant, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh will also be included in this year’s auction. 1574 cricketers have registered for the auction. Which includes 1165 Indian and 409 foreign players.

There will be a limit of maximum 25 players in a team

Each franchise will be able to field a team of maximum 25 players (including the respective retained players) and a total of 204 players can be purchased from the auction. For 320 capped players, there will also be 1224 uncapped players in the auction list. While 30 players from associate countries are also included. Among capped players i.e. players playing international cricket, 48 are from India. Apart from this, 965 uncapped players of the country will also be part of the auction.

Punjab spent only Rs 9.5 crore in retention

All 10 franchises will collectively have around Rs 641.5 crore. So far, these franchises have retained 46 players by spending a total of Rs 558.5 crore. Each franchise was allocated Rs 120 crore to build its team, but after retention on October 31, Punjab Kings has the highest amount of Rs 110.5 crore. Because Punjab team has retained only 2 uncapped players Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh for a total of Rs 9.5 crore.

At the same time, Rajasthan Royals have the least amount in the purse. This team led by Sanju Samson has retained 6 players. After this the lowest amount is Rs 41 crore. At the same time, Kolkata Knight Riders have also retained six players. However, KKR is left with an amount of Rs 51 crore. In such a situation, both the teams will have the lowest amount during the auction.
