Jaipur : If you are going to get a passport and are attaching the PVC card of the license in the documents then the passport office will declare it invalid. The reason is that the passport office does not consider the PVC card of the license as an authorized document. The transport department has changed the license system in the last few months. Now the e-license is issued by the department but for the convenience of people the department has also validated the PVC card of the license but when this PVC card is being attached with the documents then it is being declared invalid at the passport office. In such a situation, people are confused about invalidating the card issued by the department.
No need to carry physical copies, digital license will also be valid
The passport office has said that applicants can use the DigiLocker facility to upload the required documents while submitting the application online on www.passportindia.gov.in. In such a situation, if the digital license is present in DigiLocker, then the document can be verified online at Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK). Applicants can easily upload their required documents through the DigiLocker platform. This will eliminate the need to carry physical copies of the original document while going to the passport office.
The old smart card of the license is valid
Earlier, smart cards for licenses were issued by the Transport Department from the RTO office. The passport office used to accept those smart cards for licenses in the documents, but now the PVC cards printed under the new system are not being included in the documents. People who have got new licenses or those who have renewed them after April 1 have these only.
