Jaisalmer : Rajasthan boys team won the gold medal in the 39th Youth National Basketball Competition organized by the Indian Basketball Federation. Rajasthan team won the title by defeating Karnataka by 87-67 points in the final match. Three players from Jaisalmer Academy participated in the Rajasthan team. In which Bhupendra Singh Rathore of the academy was awarded the Most Valuable Player. District Sports Officer and Jaisalmer Academy instructor Rakesh Bishnoi said that last year’s champion Rajasthan team retained the title in the Youth National Basketball Competition this year also. This year, three players of Jaisalmer Academy, Bhupendra Singh Rathore, Sanskaar Saini and Mohammad Raza, played an important role in winning the gold medal while representing the Rajasthan team.
Bhupendra Singh Rathore is the most valuable player
Jaisalmer Basketball Academy player Bhupendra Singh Rathore was awarded the title of Most Valuable Player of the Youth National Basketball Competition. In which he was also awarded prize money by the Indian Basketball Federation. Like last year, this year too the semi-final match was with Tamil Nadu in which Rajasthan team entered the final by defeating Tamil Nadu 86-54 and won the gold medal by defeating Karnataka in the final.
Academy players are waving the flag
Rakesh Bishnoi told – This year’s National School Basketball Competition was organized for 14-year-old and 17-year-old Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. In that the players of the academy had won the bronze medal. In which seven players of the academy represented the Rajasthan team. Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati and District Collector Pratap Singh congratulated the academy players and trainer Rakesh Bishnoi for making the name of the Golden City proud by continuously winning medals at the national level.
