Jaipur : History-sheeter smuggler Pokhar Khatik has been arrested from Imphal Manipur under Operation Brownie of ATS. Fearing arrest by the police, smuggler Pokhar Khatik, who had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was living on rent in a flat in a densely populated area in Mantripukhri, Imphal. An ATS team was formed to catch him. The team searched the old records of Pokhar Khatik and gathered accurate information about his contact with the gang members associated with him and criminals from other states. Head Constable Ramswaroop and Constable Rameshwar Prasad were sent to Imphal after confirmation of inter-state history-sheeter smuggler Pokhar Khatik hiding in the north-eastern states. Information was gathered locally here and smuggler Pokhar was nabbed by identifying a densely populated flat in Mantripukhri.
It was not easy for the police to go to Manipur and catch Pokhar Khatik amidst the Kuki and Meitei conflict. More than two dozen cases are registered against Khatik in various police stations of Rajasthan. He is included in the list of hardcore criminals in Chittorgarh district. History sheeter and wanted criminal Pokhar Khatik, who was caught in Imphal, is being brought to Jaipur.
Cases registered against inter-state smuggler Pokhar Khatik
● On 1 November 2005, an explosion occurred at a warehouse where illegal solvent was stored, destroying surrounding houses.
● On March 1, 2006, Nimbahera police station seized drums of solvent from the accused’s warehouse.
● On January 25, 2007, a case was registered in Nikunj police station regarding the kidnapping, hostage taking and sale of a girl.
● Case of oil theft by drilling in the government pipeline from Chanderia area on 18 December 2009.
●On May 31, 2010, 700 kg 50 grams of dodachura was recovered from Sirohi Police Station.
●On 18th July 2013, in the Sadar police station area of Chittorgarh, robbing a licensed truck carrying dodachura by taking the driver and the helper hostage along with his gang.

● Arrested on 24 July 2016 while transporting 601 kg of opium dodachura in Kishangarh-Ajmer.
● The Udaipur unit team of Special Operation Group (SOG) seized 175 kg of ganja from Chikarda area of Chittorgarh. 3 accused were arrested in this case. This ganja was brought from Visakhapatnam on the instructions of Pokhar. A head constable Prakash Chandra and constable Sajjan Singh were suspended in this case for connivance with the police.
