Jaipur : Most of the roads and bridges in Rajasthan have been damaged due to heavy rains. Due to this, people are facing a lot of problems in commuting. The government has taken a big step to repair these roads and bridges. Under this, a fund of Rs 107 crore has been approved from SDRF for the repair of roads and bridges along with other buildings damaged by excessive rain and floods in 14 districts of the state. So that the roads and bridges that have become dilapidated due to heavy rains can be repaired and made better for commuting.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has directed the Public Works Department officials to immediately start repair work so that roads, dams, canals, buildings and bridges can be made functional and the general public can get relief. She informed that this approval has been issued for the immediate repair and revival of public assets damaged by excessive rain and floods in the state.
These districts will get relief
Approval of Rs 107 crore 36 lakh has been issued for 5 thousand 618 works in 14 districts of Rajasthan. With this amount, other government assets like road bridges, dams, canals and buildings will be repaired in Tonk, Nagaur, Dungarpur, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Pratapgarh, Kota, Alwar and Bundi.
‘Work should be completed before Diwali’
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has instructed the Public Works Department officials to monitor the road works in the field continuously for the next two months and repair the roads damaged by rain before Diwali. She has asked all the chief engineers to stay in the field for seven days continuously and monitor the road works.
Deputy CM gave strict instructions
Deputy CM Diya Kumari gave strict instructions to the officials and said that there should be no compromise with the quality of roads. Such a system should be made that the contractor who builds the road must repair the road if it gets damaged during the guarantee period. She said that if any amendment is required in the rules for this, then do it. She also gave instructions to include the provisions of ‘Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Model’ to increase the quality of roads.
