Rajsamand News Desk: A meeting of Horticulture Development Society was organized today at the Collectorate Auditorium in Rajsamand. In the meeting, Collector Bal Mukund Asawa reviewed the works and schemes including fruit plant distribution, shednet house, solar power plant, mini sprinkler, farm pond.
During this, the Collector instructed the officers present that they should not be limited to just distributing subsidy, but should benefit the farmers as much as possible from the schemes of the Horticulture Department.
The Collector said that the stories of those farmers who have been able to increase their income by benefiting from the schemes of the Horticulture Department, should be brought before other deprived farmers so that they can also benefit.
Also, focus on providing good market to the farmers who are linked with the schemes so that their production can be converted into income. Also, involve more and more farmers by giving wide publicity to each scheme in the villages.
In the meeting, Deputy Director of Horticulture Department, Hariom Singh Rana told that the cultivable area in the district is 94756 hectares, the area under fruit orchards is 1570 hectares in which the main crop is Amla and others include mango, guava, lemon, plum, papaya. He informed about the progress of drip mini sprinkler, sprinkler plant, lawn, plastic mulching, vermi compost and vegetable display under Rajasthan Water Sector Livelihood Project. Also informed about shade net house, solar power plant, mini sprinkler, farm pond, lawn, plastic mulch under advanced horticulture activity under Atal Ground Water Scheme.
