Rajsamand Inflation spoils the taste of school children’s plate, prices of spices increase

Rajsamand : Under the mid-day meal scheme in Rajsamand, all students of classes 1 to 8 in government schools are provided midday meal every day. This scheme was made with the aim of motivating the students to come to school regularly and to provide adequate nutrition. But at present the rising inflation has significantly affected the scheme. Due to this, the taste of the students’ plates has been spoiled. Prices of green vegetables have also increased due to weather instability. There has been a huge rise in the prices of pulses, oil and spices along with vegetables. Which is affecting the nutrition of children. Due to inflation, the quantity of nutritional items in the children’s menu is being reduced.

This amount is being received

The Mid-Day Meal Commissionerate pays Rs 5.45 per student for nutritional material to students of classes 1 to 5 and Rs 8.17 per student to students of classes 6 to 8. This zodiac sign includes oil, pulses, chillies, spices, gas cylinders, fruits and vegetables. This amount is now inadequate due to increase in prices of all materials. In such a situation, adding spice to children’s nutrition has become a heavy burden.
