Rajsamand opposes privatization of power corporations, warns of agitation

A memorandum was submitted today at Rajsamand : Rajsamand Amet Subdivision Headquarters by Rajasthan Vidyut Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti in protest against the privatization of power corporations. The committee stated in the memorandum that the Rajasthan government has issued tenders to take the generation, transmission and distribution institutions of the Electricity Corporation towards privatization, which is harmful to the interests of the public and employees. The memorandum said that if the government If the government does not take concrete steps to stop privatization, then there will be a fierce agitation in the entire Rajasthan. Privatization will put additional economic burden on the general public and employees’ jobs will become insecure.

The Committee also noted that most of the work in the three Discoms (generation, transmission and distribution companies) is currently being done through outsource, FRT, contracts and private participation under CLRC. The employees expressed their displeasure over the scheme not being implemented yet despite filling the form for the OPS scheme a year ago. He has demanded that CPF deduction should be stopped and GPF deduction should be started. Joint Struggle Committee has announced that a big demonstration will be organized against privatization at the district headquarters on November 29. While submitting the memorandum, committee members Manohar Singh Chauhan, Chhaganlal Garg, Lalit Kumar Chandel, Sunil Kumar Kumawat, Umashankar Sharma, Dinesh Chandra Regar, Sunil Rawat, Bhagwan Singh Gurjar, Dharmendra Kumar Barala, Amir Singh, Vinod Kumar Kohli, Sukhdev Singh Charan and Prakash Chandra Jarotia were present.
