Jaipur : Jaipur In collaboration with IPTA Jaipur and Department of Art, Literature, Culture and Archeology, Government of Rajasthan, Rang-Ranbir Smriti Natya Utsav was organized at the Mini Theater of Ravindra Manch, Jaipur. Rang-Ranbir Smriti Natya Utsav was organized in the mini theater of Ravindra Manch, Jaipur in collaboration with IPTA Jaipur and Department of Art, Literature, Culture and Archeology, Government of Rajasthan. The chief guest of this program was Professor Dr. Ravi Chaturvedi, former HOD and senior theater director and theater artist of the Drama Department of Rajasthan University, who started the function by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, the President of the institution, Sanjay Vidrohi welcomed Professor Dr. Chaturvedi with flowers. Made with bunch and shawl. Professor Dr. Ravi Chaturvedi late. Throwing light on the personality and work of Ranbir Singh, he said that Rajasthan can never forget his contribution in the field of art, literature, culture and history. His contribution among theater artists, play writers and directors was profound.
As the main attraction of this theater festival, the play ‘Maharathi’ was staged, which was based on the life of Suryaputra Karna. The play depicts the struggles of Karna and his fight against casteism, in which Karna is insulted by Dronacharya and does not get the opportunity to showcase his skills even after Duryodhana declares him the king of Angrajya. The end of the play shows Karna’s grief and wait for justice, which leaves the audience in deep thought.
The cast of the play included Vivek Jakhar (Karna), Sudhanshu Shukla (Krishna), Shweta Choulagay (Kunti), Divyansh Shivanani (Arjuna), Dev Swami (Duryodhana) and many others. The work of lighting, music and costume decoration on the stage was also noteworthy, which was appreciated by the audience. The objective of this theater festival was to honor Late. Remembering Ranbir Singh’s invaluable contribution to theatre, his works were to be passed on to the coming generations. The group artists of Rang Mastane Sanstha performed under the direction of director Abhishek Mudgal. Stage management was done by Vivek Jakhar and Divyansh Shivanani.
