Rajasthan News Desk!!! Ranthambore Fort, included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, is a very beautiful and huge fort built by the Chauhan rulers in the 10th century. Which is built at a place where it was difficult for the enemy to reach. Many kings and rulers had tried to attack the fort but all failed. Built on two hills in Rajasthan, this fort is a symbol of the pride and glory of this place. Apart from sightseeing, there are many options for adventure in the fort.
Structure of Ranthambore Fort
For security reasons, seven doors were built in the fort. After entering from Delhi Gate, Satpol and Surajpol gates come. After this comes Navlakha, Hathi, Ganesh and last of all comes Andheri Pol. The road passing through Andheri Pol is a bit crooked. After reaching the tower of the fort, the view of several kilometers could be easily seen. Which was made to keep an eye on the attack of the enemy army. There are many ponds around the fort like Padma, Rajabagh, Malik. Which you can easily see by coming here. Temples of Lord Shiva, Ganesh and Ram are also built inside the fort. The most famous of which is Trinetra Ganesh Temple. Every year in the month of Bhadrapada, a huge fair of 5 days is organized on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. People come from far and wide to participate in it. Pushpavatika, Guptganga, Badal Mahal, Delhi Darwaja, Torandwar, Naulakha Darwaja, Jain Temple present in the fort, each has its own interesting history. Which can be known by visiting here. The most special thing in the fort is to see Hammir Mahal and the incomplete Chhatri started by Rana Sanga’s queen Karmavati.
Keep these tips in mind while planning the fort
1. Go wearing comfortable clothes and footwear because along with Ranthambore Fort, you also have the option to visit Ranthambore National Park.
2. The weather here is very cold in winter and very hot in summer, so wear and carry clothes according to the season.
3. There are no shops inside the fort, so keep water bottles with you.
4. The fort remains closed for tourists from July to September.

You can plan to visit Ranthambore Fort anytime between October to February. The temperature here is very high in summer, so avoid it during that time.

how to reach
By Air: Sangner in Jaipur is the nearest airport from where the fort is at a distance of 180 km. Daily flights to Jaipur are available from most cities. You can reach the fort by taxi and buses from the airport.
Rail route- Sawai Madhopur is the nearest railway station here. Which is connected to almost all big cities. Taxis, cabs and buses are available outside the station so that you can easily reach the fort.
By Road: You can reach Ranthambore Fort by taking half an hour’s drive from Sawai Madhopur. Private taxis are also available on hire here. One has to travel 157 km from Jaipur, 657 km from Ahmedabad, 274 km from Ajmer, 450 km from Jodhpur and 417 km from Delhi to reach here.
