Jodhpur : Assistant Collector Priyanka Vishnoi’s last rites were performed in Surpura village located near Jambha in Phalodi district. The family and relatives are inconsolable. Apart from the Bishnoi community, thousands of people from other communities also bid farewell with tearful eyes. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also expressed condolences. He described Priyanka Bishnoi’s death as tragic. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also expressed grief over Priyanka Bishnoi’s death. National President of All India Bishnoi Mahasabha Devendra Budhiya has expressed deep grief. Phalodi MLA Pabba Ram Bishnoi and former Lohawat MLA Kishana Ram have also expressed condolences.
Prominent people of the society including former MP Jaswant Singh Bishnoi, former Pradhan Bhagirath Beniwal, Deputy District Head Vikram Singh Bishnoi and Congress leader Parasram Bishnoi attended the funeral. Divisional Commissioner Pratibha Singh and Collector Gaurav Agarwal also attended the funeral. It is worth mentioning that the post-mortem of the body of Assistant Collector Priyanka Vishnoi was done by the team of Medical Board of doctors of AIIMS Hospital. After the post-mortem, the body was sent to Surpura village near Phalodi. Due to non-registration of FIR, the people of Vishnoi community sat on dharna for a long time. Consensus was reached after various rounds of talks. Talks were held in the presence of DCP Rajshree Raj Verma in which All India Vishnoi Mahasabha President Devendra Budhiya was present. Later, DCP Rishi Raj Verma came to the Bishnoi community. He assured the people of the community that after the investigation report of the case comes, if found guilty, a case will be registered and action will be taken against the accused. After the assurance of DCP Rajshree Raj Verma, the people of Bishnoi community ended their protest.
