New Delhi, December 3 (IANS). Taking an important step towards tiger conservation, the Madhya Pradesh government has declared Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary as the eighth tiger reserve of the state. Under the visionary thinking and efficient guidance of Prime Minister Modi, Madhya Pradesh has established another milestone in the field of environment and wildlife conservation. Ratapani, located in Raisen district, has now been declared the eighth tiger reserve of the state. This decision will not only strengthen the protection of tigers, but will also give a new direction to biodiversity conservation and environmental balance.

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Raisen and Sehore districts, is part of an important tiger habitat in Madhya Pradesh. The core area of ​​the proposed Ratapani Tiger Reserve is 763.812 square kilometers and the buffer area is 507.653 square kilometers. Thus, the total area of ​​the Tiger Reserve will be 1271.465 square kilometers. Ratapani Forest is located in Raisen district adjacent to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

Let us tell you that this is the eighth tiger sanctuary of the state after Kanha, Satpura, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Sanjay Dubri, Panna and Veerangana Durgavati.

The population of tigers in Madhya Pradesh is estimated at 785, which is the highest in the country. After this, Karnataka is at 563 and Uttarakhand at 560.
