New Delhi, December 4 (IANS). The research wing of Cyberpeace on Wednesday claimed that the data of 1.6 crore (16 million) customers of HDFC Life Insurance is being sold on a dark web forum for 2,00,000 USDT (Tether cryptocurrency).
Cyberpeace claimed that the leaked data contained sensitive customer information, including policy numbers, names, mobile numbers, dates of birth, email addresses, residential addresses, health status, etc.

According to Cyberpeace, data of 16 million customers is being sold in small quantities, starting from 100,000 records.
“The identity of the cybercriminal responsible for this breach is unknown,” the cyber-security organization said. Cyberpeace’s investigation shows that the hackers have already sold large chunks of the data to interested parties, raising serious concerns about its misuse. Are being born.”
Cyberpeace has advised people to remain cautious due to the leak of policy numbers and personal details.
In October also, some similar reports had come out regarding Star Health, in which it was told that the data of Star Health customers was available for sale.
Hackers had reportedly put the entire 7.24 TB data of Star Health related to more than 31 million customers on sale on a website for $150,000.
Star Health Insurance had said in a statement that they had been the victim of a targeted cyber attack which resulted in unauthorized and illegal access to certain data, adding that a thorough forensic investigation into the “targeted cyber attack” was underway.
