Recruitment process of sanitation workers for more than 23 thousand posts in Rajasthan cancelled, department issued letter

Jaipur : The direct recruitment process for more than 23 thousand posts of sanitation workers in Rajasthan has been cancelled. For the last few days, sanitation workers from different districts of the state were protesting against this recruitment process. The Urban Development Department (UDH) has issued the order on Wednesday evening. It is known that earlier the recruitment process of sanitation workers in Jaipur was postponed. Now this recruitment process has been stopped in the entire state.

It is known that the direct recruitment process of sanitation workers was introduced in September. But due to not giving priority to Valmiki community in this recruitment process, there was opposition in many districts. It is believed that due to this protest of Valmiki community, the government has canceled this recruitment process.

It is known that in September, the government had announced recruitment for more than 23 thousand vacant posts of sweepers in the state. Online applications were invited by the government for a total of 23 thousand 820 posts of sweepers in 185 urban bodies. For whom the application process started from 07 October, which was to continue till 06 November 2024.

Why was direct recruitment of sanitation workers canceled in Rajasthan?
The Bhajanlal Sharma government of Rajasthan had issued direct recruitment for 23,820 posts of sanitation workers, which has been canceled today by the UDH department. The government has withdrawn the release of the recruitment process. It is known that the lottery for this recruitment process was to be held on 7th December.

It is said that the application process for recruitment had been completed. The schedule had also been sent to the officials of 185 civic bodies. But after the strike of the Safai Karmachari Labor Union, the recruitment of first Jaipur and now of the entire state has been cancelled. The United Valmiki and Safai Workers Union was demanding to give priority to the Valmiki community in this recruitment process and consider caste as the experience certificate. Now this recruitment process will be carried out afresh.
