Udaipur : The ongoing redevelopment work at Mavli Junction Railway Station in Udaipur district at a cost of about Rs 21 crore is now in the final stages. Due to which now the junction has started taking shape as per the model. After being selected in Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, many works are being done here for the convenience of passengers. This work is going on since August 2023 and now this work is about to be completed soon. According to Railways, this work will be completed in December 2024 or January 2025. In such a situation, soon a changed picture will be seen at the station with the expansion of passenger facilities and the station will be equipped with modern facilities.
According to railway officials, at present about 70 percent of the station building work has been completed. The final round of work is going on on both the first and second three-storey buildings of the station. The work of circulating is still going on. Whatever is being done, efforts are being made to complete it as soon as possible. At the same time, there will be a foot over bridge which will connect platform numbers 1 to 6 of the station. In such a situation, passengers will no longer have to face accidents by crossing the railway tracks. A bridge has been constructed connecting the first and second buildings of the station. At present only 20 percent of its work has been done. This work will be completed by approximately March 2025. Here, the entire structure work of the building has been completed. Where even the doors have been installed after putty. Now the final finishing work is going on. Even the tiles have been installed. There is provision for café area on the second floor.
Passengers told that at present the old main building of the station has been demolished and a new building has been erected. Travelers have to enter the town through a temporary entry gate. Passengers coming from Gariawas have to go from platform number 6 to 1 and take tickets through the temporary gate. Due to vandalism due to construction work at many places, passengers wander to get out of the station at night. The tin shed on platform number 1 is being demolished and improvement work is being done. Earlier, there used to be water leakage due to leakage in tinsheds on all the platforms. Due to which the passengers got wet in the rain. Now this work has been done on all platforms.
