New Delhi, November 22 (IANS). To live a healthy life and stay away from diseases, there is a great need for people to keep their eating habits organized. A section of today’s young generation, which is becoming health conscious, has started rejecting all types of packaged food items available in the market. In such a situation, consuming peanuts as a healthy snack can be very beneficial for them.
Dr. Amit Kumar of Shatayu Ayurveda and Panchakarma Center of Hardoi had a special conversation with IANS about the benefits of daily consumption of peanuts to the human body. He said that peanuts are a healthy food item, which is rich in good fats and many types of nutrients. Eating peanuts daily for a long time provides many health benefits to the body.
If we talk about the health benefits of consuming peanuts, adequate amount of Vitamin C is found in it. It is very important for collagen production, which helps in maintaining the stability and flexibility of the skin. Wrinkles and blemishes on the skin also reduce.
Peanuts contain sufficient amount of mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which prove helpful in eliminating bad cholesterol. It also prevents coronary artery disease from developing and reduces the risk of stroke by increasing healthy blood lipid profile. It is considered an excellent source of resveratrol, which protects against cancer and other diseases. Apart from this, the tryptomer present in it increases serotonin release, which proves helpful in fighting depression.
If we talk about the nutritive value of peanuts, then 100 grams of peanuts contain about 49 grams of fat and 19 grams of protein. Apart from this, it contains 9 grams of dietary fiber and 4 grams of sugar. It is also a good source of iron, magnesium, vitamin B-6 and calcium.
