Jodhpur : Rajasthan High Court, keeping in mind the health condition of Asaram, who is serving life imprisonment in the case of sexual exploitation of a minor, has allowed him to be admitted to a private hospital located in Bhagat Ki Kothi, Jodhpur for a maximum of 30 days. In the division bench of Justice Dinesh Mehta and Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur, advocate RS Saluja, on behalf of Asaram, said that Asaram’s health condition is constant. His condition is worsening and he needs to be hospitalized for a long time. He requested that the order given earlier should be amended and he should be allowed to stay in the hospital as per requirement. Additional Advocate General Deepak Chaudhary, appearing for the government, said that the period of hospitalization should not be indefinite and it should be limited to a maximum of 30 days.
Accepting the suggestion, the division bench ordered that Asaram can be admitted to the hospital for 30 days, after which he will be sent to jail again. The court also directed that Asaram be taken to a private hospital in Basni area for any pathological or radiological examination and he himself would bear all the expenses for the same.
