Relief to drivers having numbers from outside Jodhpur state and other districts

Jodhpur : With the start of Jodhpur tourism season, people from outside states or districts coming to the city will no longer have to face the fear of unnecessary police raids or action. Now in Police Commissionerate Jodhpur, drivers with outside numbers will not be harassed and harassed by showing fear of PUC, insurance, fitness, lack of documents or other minor checks and challans. Orders have been given to issue challan only for drink and drive and motorcycles fitted with modified silencers.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Durgaram Chaudhary issued an order in this regard on Friday. He told that the drivers of vehicles with outside number and loading vehicles of Jodhpur were receiving complaints of traffic police and home guards personnel showing off their bravado by issuing challan by pointing out minor deficiencies in traffic rules. To resolve this, now the vehicles with external number that have come to the city will not be harassed unnecessarily in the name of action under the MV Act. Nor will there be abusive language or misbehavior. Traffic police officers, investigation officers, constables and home guards have been instructed to issue challans against such drivers only for drink and drive and two-wheelers fitted with modified silencers. Challans will not be raised under other headings of the MV Act.

IO will have e-challan device-challan book

Generally, an e-challan device-challan book is provided at the traffic point for making challan under MV Act. Which should remain only with the research officer of the traffic police, but usually instead of the research officer, the constable or home guard is seen with the e-challan device-challan book. Now the e-challan device-challan book will remain only with the research officer. Action will be taken against anyone who gives information to a constable or home guard.
