Religious understanding is emerging within India: Naib Qazi Syed Azgar Ali

Jaipur, November 28 (IANS). The controversy regarding Ajmer Sharif of Rajasthan has intensified. The civil court has accepted the application declaring Ajmer Sharif Dargah as a Hindu temple, now the next hearing on it will be held on December 20. Naib Qazi Syed Azgar Ali spoke to IANS regarding this on Thursday.

Syed Azgar Ali Naib Qazi told IANS that we saw on Wednesday that the trial court has ordered a survey of Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Having a survey is not a bad thing, it should be done.

He said that religious understanding is now emerging in India, which is a good thing. But, I remember a statement of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, in which he has said that it is not right to search for Shivalinga under every mosque.

Qazi further said that if we want to make India a world leader, every group and individual of India will contribute in it. But, if we keep fighting like this and the situation keeps changing, we will lose trust in each other. I believe that in such cases where people make allegations or are filing petitions, the Supreme Court should first take cognizance of those cases.

Let us tell you that the issue of mosque dispute in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh had not even settled when the case of Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan reached the court. In the application filed by the Hindu side, the Dargah was described as the temple of Mahadev. Accepting the application, the court has issued notice to all the parties and sought their reply. Now the next hearing of this case will be on December 20. After the Ajmer Sharif Dargah issue came to light, political rhetoric regarding it has intensified.
