Munger, December 2 (IANS). In Harpur police station area of Munger district of Bihar, criminals brutally murdered the father of RJD Panchayat President Kundan Kumar and fled away. Land dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
According to the police, Shyam Sundar Yadav (65), resident of Bel Bihama village of Harpur police station, slept in the garden near the house on Sunday night after having dinner. Meanwhile, unknown criminals attacked him on his head with a sharp weapon, due to which he died on the spot.
Police said that when the family members arrived on Monday morning to wake him up, the body of Shyam Sundar Yadav was lying there. The family members immediately informed the police. There is mourning in the village after this incident.
The deceased was a farmer and as usual, he was sleeping in the garden outside his house, covered with a blanket. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot.
Tarapur Police Inspector Vivek Raj said that the dog squad and FSL team reached the spot and collected evidence. An incident of murder has taken place. Investigation is being done regarding the reasons for the murder.
He said that the reasons for the murder are not known at present. But, prima facie it is being said that the murder was due to a land dispute. The elder son of the deceased is the Panchayat President of RJD. There is a land dispute going on between some people of the village and the family of the deceased.
