Roadways employees started indefinite strike over these demands, know more

Sikar : The indefinite strike of the roadways employees against the problems prevailing in the Sikar depot of Rajasthan Roadways continued for the second day today. Under the banner of Rajasthan Roadways Workers Union (CITU) and Retired Employees Welfare Committee, the employees raised slogans against the roadways management regarding the arrangements and warned to continue the strike till the pending demands are not met.

‘The condition of roadways is bad’

Giving information, CITU’s state general secretary Shyodana Ram said that the condition of Rajasthan Roadways Department, which is considered the lifeline of the Rajasthan government, is continuously deteriorating. Roadways employees have been protesting repeatedly for a long time regarding their many pending demands. But the government and the roadways management do not seem serious about their demands. There are many such demands of the roadways depot level and state level employees which are pending for a long time.

Know what are the main demands?

Mainly assigning duty to employees in the depot according to seniority. Paying salary allowances to employees on the 1st of every month. Purchasing about 2 thousand new buses to overcome the shortage of roadways buses. Recruiting new employees by issuing recruitment for at least 5 thousand new posts by the government. Ending the contract system and the process of taking buses on contract in the roadways depot. Taking weekly tests of roadways employees on time as per the guidelines of the department. Along with this, there are many other pending demands of roadways employees, which are being demanded to be fulfilled soon. Roadways employees say that the protest will continue till the demands are not met.
