Royal Rangers’ hard-fought victory

New Delhi, November 16 (IANS). Royal Rangers and United Bharat Football Club earned full points by defeating Tarun Sangha and National United Sports Club 2-0 and 2-1 respectively in tough matches of the DSA Premier League being played at the Ambedkar Stadium ground here on Saturday.

In the second match, Suman Dolui scored United India’s goal but Milon Sardar reduced the margin of defeat for National Sports Club by scoring an own goal. The match played between the two weak teams of the league could not reach its heights. Ultimately the teams left the field due to fighting.

The match played between Royal Rangers and Tarun Sangha, who were among the strong contenders for the title, had ups and downs but Royal Rangers missed easy chances otherwise the margin of victory could have been bigger. Royal Rangers took the lead through Tarun Sangha’s own goal from Avijit Naskar. Aditya Tomar scored the team’s second goal a few seconds before the long whistle. David Mottla of the winning team was named player of the match. Tarun Sangha made some good moves which the forwards failed to take advantage of.
