Ajmer : Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has planned to implement biometric verification in competitive examinations. This system will first be introduced on a trial basis during interviews and document verification, after which it can be implemented in all recruitment examinations.
What is the main reason for the change in the exam system?
The main objective of this step is to take action against dummy candidates. Recently SOG caught more than 50 dummy candidates, after which RPSC has taken this necessary step. The Commission believes that with the help of biometric system it will be possible to identify dummy candidates, which will increase the transparency of the examination.
Those who give exams in place of others are no longer in good shape.
Biometric system will work through Aadhar card. RPSC had sent a proposal in this regard to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which was approved on September 18. Now candidates will have to scan their thumb impression on the biometric machine to verify their identity. If any candidate comes to take the exam in place of someone else, he will be caught immediately if the fingerprints do not match.
Biometric verification will be done through Aadhar
According to RPSC Secretary Ramniwas Mehta, in this process the Aadhaar number of the candidates will be taken during first time registration. This will keep their name, address and other information safe. When candidates reach the examination centre, they will have to get their fingerprints scanned.
Apart from biometric system, there are many other security arrangements also.
Apart from this new biometric system, the Commission has already put in place several other security measures, such as live photo capture, prevention of fake admit cards and special options in the OMR sheets. All these steps together will further increase the credibility of the exam system. It is expected that this biometric verification system will enable RPSC to take strict action in cases of cheating and make competitive examinations more fair.
