Dholpur News Desk: The burden of the haphazard actions of the Municipal Council is falling on the council’s treasury, but the officials of the department do not care about this. After a fault in the motor cable at the STP plant, work is being done with the help of generator for the last six months. For which the council is consuming 280 liters of diesel every day. That means the council is spending Rs 25,000 a day in the name of extracting water. The foundation stone of the Sewerage Treatment Plant at Tagawali was laid to make the contaminated water flowing in the city chambers cultivable. But due to some shortcomings, the STP plant is being rebuilt. Due to the closure of the plant, water was being released into the ravines with the help of a pump, but due to work last six months, the pump had to be closed due to a fault in the electronic line of the pump. After which the council installed a generator and started the pump. After which the pump continues to operate with the help of diesel since July 18. On which the daily expenditure is Rs 25200. But the fault in the line has not been rectified yet.
New STP plant work going on at a snail’s pace
The construction work of a new sewerage treatment plant under the Amrit 2.0 scheme near the old STP plant located at Tangawali is also going on at Kachhula Chal. This treatment plant is being constructed keeping in mind the expansion of the city and more water from sewerage reaching the plant in the future. The new STP plant will be able to treat 10 MLD water in 24 hours. At the same time, in the old plant also the same amount of water will be treated and thrown out. Due to lack of drainage from chambers in the city, chambers are overflowing at many places. Due to which the city residents are also waiting for the plant to be built soon. Due to which they will get freedom from these dirty overflowing drains.
