Jaipur : There are about 18,000 drivers in Jaipur city whose registration certificate (RC) of their vehicles has been locked, but they are not aware of it. This situation has arisen due to violation of traffic rules or other reasons. The traffic department has compiled data of such cases in which these drivers are unaware of the status of their RC due to not paying the challan.
Reason for RC lock
The main reason for RC being locked is non-payment of vehicle challan. After the challan is generated, the vehicle owner is given time by the RTO, but if the challan is not deposited within the time limit, the RC is locked through the software. These 18 thousand vehicles include non-transport, transport and passenger vehicles.
