Many of these opposition MPs had also given notice to the Chairman to discuss issues like Sambhal and Manipur violence.
Opposition MPs wanted this discussion to be held under Rule 267. When discussion takes place under Rule 267, all other proceedings of the House are adjourned. Along with this, there is also a provision for voting after discussion in this rule. At the same time, the Chairman requested the opposition MPs present in the Rajya Sabha to have a productive discussion. Let important work related to the house get done. But the opposition MPs did not agree to this. They stood at their places and started demanding discussion and raising slogans. Due to this, a situation of uproar arose in the House.
