Mumbai, 19 December – After five years of hard work, Rupali Ganguly has been honoured with the Best Actress award by the Indian Television Academy for her outstanding performance in the popular TV show ‘Anupamaa’. The show has remained one of the most loved television serials, with audience admiration growing every day despite many changes over time.
Rupali Ganguly expressed her happiness on receiving the award and fondly remembered the late Satish Shah. Sharing photos on her Instagram account, she posed happily with the trophy, celebrating the success with her co-star, producer Rajan Shahi, and her fans.
In her caption, Rupali wrote, “Gratitude, gratitude and lots of gratitude. This legend, my rockstar – my Satish Kaka, this is for you. Twenty-five years of dedication, hard work, dreams, hope, struggle, insecurity, disappointment, and joy – through it all, some things remained like the first day, especially Ashwin. When I wanted to give up, his faith gave me the strength to move forward.”
She acknowledged her husband Ashwin’s constant support throughout her acting career.
Rupali also recalled her journey, “I stepped into the beautiful world of television 25 years ago with debut director Rajan Shahi and a wonderful maker who trusted this mother living in the house and made me the iconic ‘Anupamaa’. Thank you all for so much love and support.”
Rupali Ganguly shared a special bond with the late Satish Shah, whom she always regarded like a father. She visited him during his final days. Both had worked together in the popular sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, where Rupali played the role of Monisha, Satish’s daughter-in-law. Their comic timing was widely appreciated. Although a sequel to the sitcom was made, the family feels incomplete after Satish Shah’s demise.
