Jaipur : Nominations of 10 contenders for by-elections in seven assembly constituencies of Rajasthan have been rejected. In which a woman is also included. With this, 84 contenders are now left in the election fray. The picture will be clear everywhere after the date of withdrawal of nominations on Wednesday.
According to the Election Department, nomination verification work was done on Monday. Under this, no nomination was rejected in Jhunjhunu and Ramgarh assembly constituencies, there all 25 claimants are intact. On the contrary, in Dausa maximum four nominations were rejected. Due to which now there are 17 contenders left. One woman is also included in these. Two nominations each in Deoli-Uniara and Khinvsar have been rejected, due to which now there are 11 contenders in Deoli-Uniara and 13 from Khinvsar. Due to rejection of one nomination each, Salumber has the least number of 6 contenders in the state, while Chaurasi has 12 contenders. The nominations of two dummy candidates of Congress and one of BJP have been rejected. Among them, Sawai Singh Choudhary, husband of Ratan Choudhary, the official candidate of Congress from Khinvsar and Harikesh Meena from Dausa, while the name of Avinash, son of BJP candidate Shanta Devi from Salumber is also there.
