Sanitation workers are on strike across the state, heaps of garbage have piled up, know what their demands are

Jaipur : the sanitation system across the state may collapse from today. In fact, the sanitation workers of the state have warned of going on strike. The strike has already begun in many cities, due to which garbage is not being lifted in the city. The sanitation workers want that the recruitment for 24 thousand 797 posts should be done on the basis of muster roll. Valmiki community should be given priority in the recruitment of sanitation workers. However, the government had decided not to conduct this recruitment on the basis of muster roll.

Garbage will not be picked up: Dandoria

Nandkishore Dandoria, President of the Joint Valmiki and Safai Shramik Union, said that the recruitment of Safai Karamcharis should be done on the basis of muster roll as per the agreement. Till this happens, our protest will continue. This agreement was made with the government on 23 January 2024. The union said that till the recruitment is not done as per the agreement, garbage will not be picked up in the state capital Jaipur. The union has also demanded that during the recruitment process, priority should be given to the already working Safai Karamcharis by giving bonus marks.

Dandoriya says that the government is now going to recruit on the basis of lottery, whereas according to the agreement, there was an agreement to give priority to those candidates who have worked in urban bodies and those candidates whose case is pending in the court, but now it is being postponed. He warned that until the demands are not met, work will be boycotted in entire Rajasthan. Dandoriya said that recruitment on the basis of lottery is not in the interest of the Valmiki community. He has also accused the government of not pleading properly in the High Court.
