Sanitation workers stop working in Udaipur Semari Municipality, common people upset

Due to the ongoing tussle between Udaipur : Udaipur Municipality and the Panchayati Raj system, development in Semari Nagar has come to a halt for the last two years. In such a situation, the villagers are facing many types of inconveniences. Villagers said that after the formation of the municipality, there was no development of any kind and instead of providing basic facilities, the budget of the municipality was ruined by unnecessary expenditure. There is anger among the villagers regarding the municipality. The villagers again demanded the formation of Gram Panchayat and the municipality was banned.

After that, only cleaning work was being done in the city, that too because the cleaning workers were not paid for the last 2 months and the cleaning workers stopped the work. Jamadar of sweepers Narayan Lal said that salaries of two workers are outstanding for the last 8 months and the salaries of other 37 workers have not been paid for the last two months. Some previous payment is also outstanding. Here, contractor Dushyant Bhatt, resident of Salubar, said that the payment could not be made due to the post of Executive Engineer becoming vacant in the municipality and the post of Municipality President becoming vacant due to the Municipality President becoming Salubar MLA. At present there is a stay on the municipality. Due to which there is doubt regarding the payment for continuing the cleaning in the coming days. In such a situation, the cleaning workers have stopped the work. Due to which the city residents are facing problems.
