Jaipur : Amidst the state government’s preparations for One State-One Election, the State Election Commission has started preparations for elections in 7463 Gram Panchayats. The five-year tenure of Sarpanch and Ward Panches in these Panchayats is going to be completed in January-February 2025. However, due to the announcement of One State-One Election, the state government recently postponed the elections by appointing administrators in 49 urban bodies. At the beginning of next year, the tenure of 6759 Gram Panchayats in Rajasthan is ending in January and 704 in February. In view of this, the State Election Commission has ordered the concerned District Collectors to update the voter list and identify voter centres. With this, preparations for elections started in these Gram Panchayats. On the other hand, due to the announcement of One State-One Election, there is confusion over the elections of these Panchayats like the urban bodies.
