Barmer : A MiG-29 fighter plane of the Indian Air Force crashed due to technical fault in Barmer district of Rajasthan on Monday night. The accident took place at a distance of about 3 km from the residential area in Kavas village, due to which no casualties have been reported. Rajasthan’s largest oil field Mangala Processing Terminal (MPT) is also near the incident spot, but the impact of this accident did not reach there. Both the pilots on board the plane got out safely before the crash.

The Indian Air Force posted from its official ‘X’ account that, ‘MiG 29 took off from Uttralai airbase on Monday night for routine testing. But due to a major technical fault, the pilots had to be ejected from the plane. The incident happened around 10 pm on Monday night. After getting information about this, the local police along with the Air Force team reached the spot and rescued the pilots and started investigating the accident by sealing the area of ​​400 meters around the accident site.

According to eyewitnesses, one pilot of the plane had ejected 4 kilometers away from the incident spot and the other pilot ejected at some distance from the incident spot. When the villagers reached the pilot, the pilot told them that we have saved your village. One of my companions has fallen somewhere near the plane. He needs help. Search for him quickly and inform the Air Force about our location. According to the villagers, two pilots were flying the plane. After the technical flaw came to light, both the pilots decided that one should eject and save lives and the other should take the plane away from the densely populated area and oil field, so that there is no loss of life. After which one pilot ejected three to four kilometers before the incident and the other managed to save lives by ejecting at a distance of a few meters from the incident spot. According to the district administration officials, both the pilots are safe.
