Sawai Madhopur : Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign was launched on Monday in the district. Under this, pre-natal checkup of pregnant women and free sonography was done at private sonography centres. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Dharam Singh Meena said that the Mother Voucher Scheme has been started with the aim of providing the facility of sonography once during pregnancy to every pregnant woman of the state. Free sonography is being done to pregnant women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. Private sonography centers of the district have also been added to this, so that pregnant women can get the facility to get sonography done in their area. Under this, pregnant women can get tested at any registered sonography center as per their convenience.
On the Prime Minister’s Maternity Campaign Day, coupons containing QR codes are being issued on the registered mobile numbers of pregnant women to get the necessary tests done along with sonography tests on 9th, 18th and 27th of the month. Through this coupon, pregnant women can get their sonography test done free of cost at any private sonography center authorized by the department. He said that pre-natal check-up of pregnant women was done and after checking their weight, height, stomach check, blood test, haemoglobin, blood pressure, sugar, HIV, syphilis, heart beat, urine, sonography etc. necessary medicines were provided. Along with examining pregnant women in various medical institutions, doctors also referred them to higher institutions if any complication was found during pregnancy. The doctors also made them aware about the complications that may occur during pregnancy.
